WTOA provides students with flexibility in when and where they complete coursework while maintaining academic expectations, pacing guidelines, and ongoing support. To remain on track for graduation, students are expected to earn approximately 5–6 credits each semester through consistent coursework completion, participation, and academic progress.

Students may have opportunities to participate in synchronous or live instruction through partnerships such as Indiana Online Academy or other approved programs based on individual course needs and scheduling opportunities.

Attendance is monitored through daily check-ins, coursework participation, communication, and ongoing academic engagement.

Students participating in the WTOA + North Central pathway may be eligible to participate in athletics, clubs, activities, and other student experiences through North Central High School. Athletic participation is subject to team selection, IHSAA eligibility requirements, and academic standing.

Yes. Students graduate from Washington Township Online Academy and receive a state-recognized high school diploma from WTOA.

Students regularly engage with teachers, support staff, and school leadership through daily check-ins, communication, academic monitoring, and support opportunities throughout the school week. Additional academic support resources are also available based on individual student needs and schedules.

Yes. Students may have opportunities to participate in Advanced Placement (AP), Dual Credit, Indiana College Core, and other advanced coursework opportunities through North Central High School, Indiana Online Academy, Indiana University High School, or additional approved partners.

Students are expected to have reliable internet access and use district-approved technology platforms and devices necessary to participate in online learning. Additional technology information and support resources will be provided to enrolled students and families.

Students earn grades based on coursework completion, assessments, and academic progress within their courses. Additional grading information and expectations will be communicated through course instructors and school guidelines.

Students earn grades based on coursework completion, assessments, participation, and academic progress within their courses. Families and students will be able to monitor academic progress, grades, attendance, and additional school information through Skyward throughout the school year.

WTOA works collaboratively with students, families, teachers, and support staff to provide services and accommodations aligned to individual student needs, including supports connected to IEPs, 504 Plans, multilingual learner services, and other student support programming.

Yes. Students in grades 9–11 who reside outside of MSD of Washington Township boundaries must first complete and receive approval through the district’s nonresident enrollment process. Once approved, families will be notified that they are eligible to apply for enrollment consideration at WTOA.

Families are responsible for providing transportation for any required in-person courses, programs, activities, athletics, or meetings connected to WTOA, North Central High School, or J. Everett Light Career Center participation.

Students may request a return to North Central High School at designated transition points, typically at the semester.
